Ginkgo
One of the oldest species of tree, dating back to prehistoric times the Ginkgo has an irregular habit and slow initial growth rate when young. Once established, they grow at a moderate rate. Female plants produce edible yellow fruit containing a seed surrounded by a smelly outer flesh making male trees the more popular choice for residential gardens. The light green leaves turn bright yellow in autumn creating a beautiful visual display.
