A beautiful small, rounded maple native to Japan, Korea and China which grows to 6 metres in height and 6 metres in width.
Known for it’s small, triangular, three-lobed leaves which are a bronze-red colour when young and mature to a glossy dark-green colour on top and pale green beneath. During Autumn, the colour of the leaves turns various shades of orange and red with small yellow-green flowers appearing in spring.
These trees are tolerant to drought and prefer humus rich soil, and positioned in full sun or part-shade. They are low maintenance and a good size for small gardens or as street trees and are also popular bonsai trees.
