Pin Oak (Quercus palustris)

Large ornamental deciduous tree that is fast growing. In Autumn this feature, tree makes a spectacular display when the leaves become scarlet, orange and red-brown tones before falling and forming an Autumn carpet.

Handsome spreading branches and deeply lobed green foliage.


Will grow in most free draining garden soils in full or partial sun. Frost and cold tolerant. Does best in reasonably deep soils with good even moisture supply through Summer, but is dry tolerant once established.


Mulch well to retain soil moisture and reduce weeds. Usually does not require pruning as it forms an attractive symmetrical shape
