A fast-growing tall columnar hybrid conifer growing up to 10 – 12 metres high. Unpruned this tree forms a dense pyramidal shape making them popular screening trees for privacy or as a wind-break. They can be pruned and trimmed to shape and make beautiful feature trees.
The blue-green leaves are scaly and pointed on flattened branches. The female cones are round in shape and male cones are ovoid.
Adaptive and hardy, these trees can tolerate drought, heat and humidity, pollution, coastal environments and wind. They grow in a variety of soils from acid to alkaline, but prefer moderately fertile moist soils.
